Whether you are visiting South Africa during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ or not, the SCORE Cup is an ideal way to become involved and play your part in sharing the excitement of this global event.
SCORE offers interested companies, sports clubs, organisations and individuals around the world the unique opportunity to "adopt" one of the communities participating in the SCORE Cup. This will help the community to achieve their dream of being part of this soccer spectacular and will assist in building lasting friendship and collaboration with sports people in that community, long after the final whistle has sounded.
As a SCORE Cup sponsor you support the training and capacity building of community youth, allowing them to organize their own events and be able to showcase their efforts via effective communication. Through the innovative use of an online social networking platform, SCORE will set up a personalized webpage that provides you with daily updates in the form of photos, videos and blog posts from the players and teams participating in the SCORE Cup in your partner community.
Your direct contribution to the tournament and personal engagement with the players and people in your sponsored community will clearly show your friends, employees, clients, guests or neighbours that together it is possible to Change Lives Through Sport.
Using NING, an online social networking platform to connect SCORE communities to the world!
Through the innovative use of the NING social networking platform, SCORE is able to facilitate direct interaction between community participants and the sponsors of the SCORE Cup in their community. SCORE has published NING pages detailing the SCORE Cup, including an overall daily highlights page, as well as set up NING pages for each community participating in the SCORE Cup.
Community participants are being trained to upload blog posts containing the days match scores as well as photo and video content to their community page. In this way they will be able to provide regular feedback to the sponsor of the community cup in their community. It is hoped that the interest generated by such engaging and direct feedback from the teams and participants in the sponsored community will engage the employees of the corporate sponsors and initiate a lively online dialogue and a sharing of the excitement of the World Cup.
