![]() | Stefan Howells, Executive Director
After completing his studies in Social Anthropology at Harvard University, Stefan joined SCORE as a program co-ordinator working in Khayelitsha in 1991. Stefan fulfilled a number of leadership roles within the fledgling organisation and after SCORE lost support from its American partner organisation in 1994, Stefan led the registration of SCORE as a South African NGO of which he became executive Director in 1995. Stefan has been the backbone of SCORE ever since and he is currently responsible for strategic planning, fundraising, organizational development and management within SCORE International. For his tireless efforts, Stefan was included on the Queen's Birthday Honors List in 2008 and was awarded an MBE for Services to Sport and Social Development in Southern Africa. | |
![]() | Betty Kgomotlokwa Lallie, Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising Manager
With a degree HMS Fort Hare and Diploma in Sports Management. Betty first encountered SCORE while she was employed by the provincial department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture in the Eastern Cape in 1998. In 1999 she was seconded to co-ordinate the program in the Eastern Cape on a full time basis, responsible for volunteers and provincial liaison. In October 2001 she joined the SCORE South Africa team in Cape Town as Assistant Program Operations Manager. She later became the Head of Programs responsible for all projects in South Africa, Namibia and Zambia. In 2007 she took on the Communication & Public Relations Manager position for SCORE International, based in Cape Town. | |

| Trevor Pedro, Program Support Manager
Trevor has a long history at SCORE and has been involved in a number of different capacities. His current position focusses on mentoring trainers, providing special support functions for projects as well as Project Management. | |
| Nancy Williams, Office Manager
Nancy joined the SCORE International team in February 2010, responsible for managing all office systems and administration as well as facilities. Nancy recently returned from working in the UK and prior to that for Teamtalk Media - British Broadcasting SA. She has a wide range of experience in office management, including administration, HR, finance and payroll, procurement, customer relationship maintenance and events. | |
| Archibald Bolotina, Driver "Tata" has been responsible for transporting SCORE volunteers since 1995 and is always willing to go the extra mile and always eager to help. Mr Archibald lives in Khayelitsha with his wife and they have 3 grand children from their two daughters. | |

| Mel Paramasivan, Communications Coordinator
After volunteering in Zambia as a media officer for two Sport and Development NGOs based in Lusaka, Mel was overwhelmed by the passion of young leaders and their drive for social change through sport. She has been fortunate to remain in this field as the Communications Coordinator for SCORE in South Africa. Her role centres around developing marketing materials and external communication, as well as internal communication between all SCORE entities. Mel first had the opportunity to experiment with media at Loughborough University where she was a member of the Media Committee and student of Information Science. Experience has lead her to become interested in how individuals interact with information and different patterns of communication. When not in the office or in the field, Mel enjoys exploring. | |

![]() | Allison Furniss, Program Coordinator
As the Program Coordinator for NAM-VIP (the Namibia Volunteer Involvement Program) based in Windhoek, Allison is responsible for overseeing the operation of SCORE Namibias overall programming in all 12 SCORE Namibia communities. With a focus on the NAM-VIP program, Allison works with the other staff, trainers and volunteers in the coordination of events, workshops, HIV/AIDS awareness and general volunteer promotion, as well as in fostering new and existing partnerships and communication with stakeholders. Allison obtained a degree in Kinesiology and Nutrition in her native country of Canada and her extensive travels in Africa along with her experience as a CGC volunteer and Kicking AIDS Out! Program Coordinator have steered her career in a Sports for Development direction. Allison is a an accomplished national level athlete in a number of sporting diciplines. Allison has been working at SCORE since October 2009. |
![]() | Raymond Vries, Senior Trainer
Raymond started out as a SCORE Exchange volunteer from Namibia to South Africa in 2005/2006. He was based in the Mpumulanga Province in a community called Lefiswane. There he worked in 3 primary schools with the mini-league (youth leads) programme and PE. He also tried to develop cricket and successfully formed 3 cricket teams. Raymond joined SCORE Namibia as a staff member in the capacity of trainer upon his return to Namibia in 2006 until present day. |

![]() | Henrietta Settler, Programme Manager
As a development practitioner, educator and trainer with more than 15 years experience, Henrietta has been involved with various organisations in South Africa. Her dedication to education stem from her years as a young educator in the anti-apartheid struggle, then privileged to study in England and the desire to contribute to the betterment of the lives of her fellow citizens especially children and young people. In various organisations over the past few years she has been responsible for developing appropriate and practical systems, design, delivery and the monitoring of various projects. Her academic experience spans several academic disciplines. She obtained a BPhil degree in Community and Youth Studies from the University of Birmingham after which she enrolled at the University of Cape Town for a Masters in Political Studies. She further holds a Diploma in Education and is current graduate student at the University of Stellenbosch completing an Mphil in Social Science Methods. | ||

Nkosana is responsible for co-ordinating SCORE's programs in Limpopo Province, ensuring that they are in line with existing program and project plans. Nonceba has a broad experience in community development, having worked with a number of organizations in various sectors such as youth development and HIV/AIDS training. She is also a skilled facilitator and trainer, especially in the area of HIV/AIDS, Leadership and Youth Development. Nonceba's hobbies are reading, music, socialising and cooking. ‘’I am very passionate about youth, especially from disadvantaged communities, and just seeing them involved and active in sports without worrying about the struggles at home and in their communities puts joy in my heart.’’ | ||

Thandeka is responsible for co-ordinating the administration and logistics of the Volunteer Program. She also provides additional support to volunteers through phonecalls and site visits, as well as supporting the provincial co-ordinators with administration relating to volunteers activities, including big community festivals. | ||

Eric’s interest in theology and experience in facilitating, conflict resolution and management have helped him excel as a provincial trainer. Previously working as a High School teacher and with his church youth group, he has a sound knowledge and experience in working with young people. Eric is fulfilled by helping people to achieve their goals and to see them happy. In his free time he enjoys playing or watching sport activities and reading when he is not busy! I have chosen to work with SCORE because this job fulfils my ambitions of working in sport full time and satisfies my desire to travel around the country helping young people. I have always been active in sport, as a player, captain and coach and working for SCORE means I am able to help young people become respected by their community and bring a smile to their face.’’ | ||

Gift Hlozi Maluleke, Trainer (Eastern Cape) Gift joined SCORE in 2007 as a Community Volunteer under the Living Sport programme and was among the group of volunteers to pilot the first Cup of Heroes in East London, in 2007. He then became a volunteer on the Youth Sports Exchange Programme (YSEP) in 2008, working with sport structures in Nyimba. Gift is now responsible for community relationships and activities in the Eastern Cape. | ||

Lubabalo has been working in the field since 2007, and joins SCORE after working for another Sport and Development organisation in Port Elizabeth, where he is originally from. He joined SCORE in 2010 as a trainer, and is responsible for the Western Cape office in Khayelitsha. Lubabalo enjoys all sport codes, but his first passion is rugby. | ||

Kwezi has extensive experience in the field of HIV/AIDS awareness following employment in various NGOs, including World Vision South Africa. His 11 years of work experience in HIV prevention, education, and community mobilisation has helped him grow into an excellent facilitator and trainer. His personal and professional satisfaction comes from seeing changes in the communities that SCORE work in, and especially with vulnerable populations. His interests include community development, sport and politics. | ||

![]() | Mzimkhulu Godlo, Sport Facilitator (Mbekweni Community Sports Centre) Mzi runs training sessions for young leaders at the centre. "What I enjoy about sports and training is I love working with small kids and giving them ideas about sport." Mzi grew up in Mbekweni and studied Business Computing and Sport Management at Varsity College in Cape Town and is currently assistant coach to a Vodacom League team. He enjoys going out, but not too much, as he enjoys his space! Watching movies and reading sport related books. |

Zacharia has been working for SCORE since February 2008. Prior to joining SCORE he worked with several development and gender oriented Non-Governmental Organisations in Zambia among them Red Cross, World Vision and YMCA. He has Over 15 years work experience in development with nine years in the design and implementation of projects as well as experience in planning, proposal development, report writing, budget management and analysis. Zacharia also has a good understanding of participatory approaches and skills in team building processes. Zac was attracted to SCORE because of its holistic approach to youth development – working on the body, mind and soul. |

Caroline has been working for SCORE as an Administration Assistant since October 2008 and was transferred to the programmes department in January 2010 as a Junior Trainer, after having been involved in programme implementation in her administrative capacity. She joined SCORE from Miles and Associates International where she worked in Administration and later as a Peer Educator where she was exposed to community work and facilitation for two years. Her hobbies include swimming and playing basketball. |

Philip joined SCORE in 2007 as a Trainer having been a SCORE YSEP volunteer in Zimbabwe in 2006 where he was placed in Matebeleland South. Philip is a football player and coach. He has a attended several football coaching courses and clinics. He is a volunteer coach in his community where he is helping community youths in sports for recreation and development. He worked for Zambia Open Community Schools as a Sports Coordinator from 2004 to 2006. |
