SCORE has relied on volunteers to implement the organisations programmes and projects ever since the first team of five American volunteers arrived in Khayelitsha in 1991. SCORE believes that volunteers require comprehensive training and in-service support in order to effectively achieve the desired development outcomes of the projects they contribute towards.
Based on the organisations volunteer management expertise, SCORE has been called apon to facilitate the training and support of volunteers for other development agencies and even establish volunteer programmes for National Governments.
